When Mrs Tighe asked us fourth graders what we wanted to be when we grew up, back in the 1970s, the girls said “teacher!” and the boys said “firefighter!” I said I wanted to be a writer. Half a century later, I look back on decades of professional writing and forward to sharing my creative nonfiction.
